On June 26th the Florence County Council announced Monster Worldwide South Carolina ( monster.com ) will locate in Pee Dee Touchstone Energy Commerce City, in northern Florence County South Carolina bringing an additional 750 jobs to Florence County. The startup will be fast tracked. One hundred of the jobs will begin filling in September. It is believed about 25% of the jobs will be in the six figure range while the average salary will be in $30k range. There is potential for up to 1,200 jobs at this location. Florence County beat out more than 3,500 other possible sites for this facility. This dramatic news comes just weeks after Heinz announced it will create 350 jobs with its new frozen food center in Florence County.
